Virginia Beach by day

In front of Barclay Towers @ Virginia Beach. My question was whether or not this was simply ocean swept sand or if, as at Folley Beach in SC, the local tourism establishment wipes it clean daily...
A young surfer heading out to catch a "break." In response to my question about waves, he said "the only consistant waves are at the breakwater, but what would I know." He then asked me to help him get his neoprene gloves on and then timisdly waded into the water in a complete body wetsuit not dissimilar to what I had worn into the depths of the waters surounding the channel islands.

I guess that April coean temps are low no matter where you go on this countries abundant eastern and western coasts. If the guy hadn't been half my age I might have given him a hard time. As it was, I commiserated about how frigid the water was and kept strolling down the shore...
Perspectives: While the scale may be distinct, by plane or on foot, the subtle shape shifting of the geological formations of the earth is awe inspiring. This continuous process starts as wind blown sediment pushed and pulled in layers across itself. Ending up millions of years later in curving pressurized deliniations beneath epochal formations wrought by forces imperceptable and immeasurable by the human eye...
