Drove 0ut of Maynardville and up route 61 towards Big Ridge State Park through an irregular rain and misty, low lying clouds. Up and down past pastoral familial complexes and run down legacies of better days gone by, I finally found what I was looking for.
Looking out over the valley covered by the first dam of the CCC, later the TVA, and the submerged town of Layton, TN.
The ever brilliant spring indicators of Dogwood trees flowering despite and in defiance of the rain.
